Thousands Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to handle the widespread outages.
Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced energy failures after Melbourne saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
